Film SANG PEMIMPI adalah film ke dua yang diangkat dari novel karya Andrea Hirata, menyusul film pendahulunya “LASKAR PELANGI”. Dalam ajang Indonesia Movie Awards (IMA) 2010 kemaren malam (5 Mei 2010), OST Sang pemimpi meraih PENGHARGAAN SEBAGAI Soundtrack Terfavorit IMA 2010.
Tentu saja hal ini tidak mudah karena pesaing nominasi ini juga keren2, pesaingnya Sang Pemimpi:
1. Bukan Cinta Biasa (AFGAN)
2. Garuda Didadaku (NETRAL)
3. Ketika Cinta Bertasbih (MELLY GOESLAW & AMEE)
4. Main Serong (THE CHANGCUTERS)
Jadi, selamat ya buat “SANG PEMIMPI”, khususnya untuk GIGI
Mencari sebuah lagu untuk sebuah soundtrack film tidaklah mudah, karena OST berperan penting dalam nendukung penyampaian pesan film ke para penontonnya. Apalagi Soundtrack film “Laskar Pelangi” karya Giring Nidji sudah sukses dan melekat di hati masyarakat. Sang penggarap film Sang pemimpi harus berpikir keras untuk menentukan Soundtrack yang dan tidak kalah dengan kesuksesan Soundtrack Laskar Pelangi. Mira Lesmana selaku produser film dan musik, mengumpulkan 12 lagu untuk soundtrack film “Sang Pemimpi”, dan beruntung grup band GIGI mengirimkan tiga lagu yang mak nyuss dan Mira memilih salah satu lagunya sebagai theme song lagu ini berjudul “SANG PEMIMPI”. Lagu tersebut menjadi pembuka album Sang Pemimpi hasil kerjasama Miles Music dan Trinity Optima Production.
